Anthenia came to Hackensack five years ago from the town of Rosean in Dominica. She sings a mixture of Reggae and Soca that trespasses into Rhythm & Blues with delightful results. In Dominica, Athenia was the youngest in a nine-person band, "The Swinging Stars," and she's bounced from ensemble to ensemble in America. Now she's out on her own. As an example of her compositions, she offered "A Song in My Head," a musical declaration of love. Asked for her over-weening passion in life, she answered without hesitation that she sings every waking moment of every single day. Also, she spares no effort in instilling that love of melody in her children. She's performed at Le Varvat (WLBS Radio's club) among other night spots. This song is literally stuck in my head. It makes you just want to dance no matter where you are. It has great potential and I think will make it big.
